Distributed non toxic e-waste recycling
Send your Silicon Trash and & get the gold back in your pocket.
We take end-of-life computer chips — RAM, GPUs and any silicon with enough precious metals hidden inside — and reuse the gold, silver, and rare metals - by mechanical means and by knowledge means. You send us the trash, we do the disassembly, hacking and recovering, and at the end we divide the financial return between you and Offtrash. For one broken Laptop that means 3 to 5 Euro for you, given that really everything is totally broken. If not, it could be more. And the best: you are giving a big contribution to a new distributive and open source economy at the same time.
Maybe you have heard of Friedensreich Hundertwasser or Gaudi. Both did something remarkable: Instead of just being Architects building houses, they built houses that make Architects out of the people that live in it. Instead of throwing away your trash, send it in and OffTrash will work further on machines that enable new individual enterprises. Like the Fediverse but for things not only software. Decentral is good - but distributive is better. We think that the centralization of information is a main factor why Prices are going up, not down, even though our productivity is raising through technology.
We saved the first Laptop from ending up just being Trash.
Like on the Fediverse, we do not only act in a way individuals would, but we also publish our tools and information. After researching several places that take e-waste in germany, we dissassembled the first Laptop with a screwdriver and a soldering iron. Based on the prices we could reasearch, and based on the amount of grams we could weight per disassembled part, we could create for you the following Infographic. Keep in mind that through testing the parts and recovering the working ones, we can get to higher profits. The price of the Antenna Cables of the Laptop reflects this idea. The other prices are the grams per parts multiplied by their trash prices. In the graphics, other costs like the time for organizing and logistics is not included. But: OffTrash is certain now, that it can give you minimum 3 to 5 Euro per Laptop that is completely broken for you.
Support recycling e-waste to reduce rare earth mining and conflicts
Buy our communication materials, and support us in solving one of the biggest problems of our times - silicon waste, silicon consumption and silicon production - with an unusual, individualist and distributed approach. Join us and earn money or use us and save money - while reducing rare earth mining, exploring the hardware around you or using less ressources for nowadays basic needs like communication.

Two ways to get in touch
The distributive nature is that we would like to teach what we know. Send us your broken Laptops, Mainboards or RAM - or write to us about OFFGPT + SearXNG — the stack we use to get the needed information such as the classification of parts, or new ways to revive or pull metals (silver, for one) out of the residue. Two links, two conversations.

Send your Silicon Trash
For starting We're after broken Laptops For your learning, Laptops before Year 2000 have usually triple as much gold in them. Write us with the quantity you can ship, we will give you the address to ship to. Drop them in a padded envelope, add your name and address on the outside, and post them to our Perinaldo lab. We'll weigh the silicon on arrival and send your financial return back by your preferred payment service within 10 working days.
Our research loop runs on a privacy advocating OFFGPT Deep Neural Network instance using KaosCube Search, a meta-search built on SearXNG. It's the same pipeline we use when we're looking for new ways to revive etrash — often on software level — but not only. If you're running something similar, or you've found a route for pulling one of the less-common metals out of the silicate, drop us a line. Also, feel free to use Kaoscube Search, while it protects your privacy.
